One Box Pheasant Hunt 2019 Results
The ROYAL FLUSH HUNT CLUB new team takes first place, following the 59th Annual One Box Pheasant Hunt in Broken Bow, NE. Team captain, Jeff Berney (Holdrege, NE), shares the victory with teammates: Tim Hoeft (Holdrege, NE), Allan Zumpfe (York, NE), Ryan O'Hare (Cozad, NE), and Troy Bracker (Fremont, NE). With one box of shells, this five-member team scored 75 POINTS shooting 15 pheasants. Local guides Bruce Bartak and Mark Schmidt, dog handler Scott Voelsch, and scorekeeper Nole Chapin share the glory. The NEBRASKA STRONG new team came in second with 60 POINTS, and the SOUTH BY SHOOT WEST new team came in third with 45 POINTS.
The 59th One Box Hunt featured seven new teams and 42 past shooters. The Competitive Past Shooters Team #4, captained by Russ Strehle, took first place in their division. Team members included Dann Smith, Chad Kucera, Lowell Jepsen, and Kent Leibhart. Jeff Evans and Mike Holcomb helped guide this successful team.
Fundraisers & banquets were held at the One Box Convention Center in Broken Bow. Area community members hosted each new team, throwing cocktail parties to welcome the sportsmen to Custer County. Sporting clays and trap shooting competitions were also on the schedule at the One Box Gun Club. Local volunteers and generous sponsors make this annual event a success.
